NO cd/rw drive detected

I'm using the latest version of acronis true image deluxe and i have a plextor px482448 cd writer. I also have a sata hard disk an i finally found out how to make acronis detect it (using a custom boot disk) after a few useless attempts of mailing the problem to the support , now it won't detect a common IDE cd/rw (in fact it never did). Please help! I found no topics like this on the forums.

Actually, Acronis True Image Deluxe is quite outdated version of the software, so generally I advice you to upgrade to the latest version of the product - Acronis True Image 7.0 at our Upgrade page via this link -

http://www.acronis.com/sales/upgrade/.

Most likely the latest version will be able to see the CD-drive.
