    Hey guys. i've been doing some reading on nLIte but i still dont know exactly what it is. What is it used for?

    Hi EddieT.H.,

    The main idea is to make a customized Windows XP install CD that can include SP2, lots of the updates, and your favorite customizations of the OS.
    So next time when you have to clean install Windows, you will be done much faster.

    And u can cut down the things as well-- liteXP!

    Another advantage is that you can include the majority of the security patches and other updates of Windows.
    The "Windows Update" or automatic update will be much shorter after that.
    This is also interesting if you want to do an off-line installation and keep your computer clean.

    nLite has MANY more features to streamline your Windows or to tweak your Windows.

    nLite has even an option to move the entire folder "C:\Documents and Settings" to another partition. I never tried it, but my pre-tests looked very promising. Maybe one day, I will do it anyway.

    hey..umm what if i dont have the Windows Cd by itself... i have a recovery discs that came with my computer (HP). Will that work?

    You need to have your xp cd.

    will a recovery disc work, it has windows in it

    usually no as recovery disks restore/install differently than a windows cd.

    i found an article on how to make your on windows cd on PCworld, i guess that will work?

    u mean this article? that may not work either because its a bartpe cd.

    actually i just gave up.... since it kept getting errors
