I just installed PG. Completed the learning phase of installation and everything went well. When I rebooted, I received a flag from PG that vsmon.exe (zone alarm monitoring program) was denied install drivers/services. Is this normal? What happens if I do not permit vsmon.exe this permission? Am I turning off Zone Alarm's monitoring capabilities by denying this permission. I don't know why a monitoring program needs to install drivers or services. Can anyone provide direction.

    Hi Jim

For some reason PG's learning mode doesn't always automatically pick up some of the .exe's run at startup.

it's fine to let vsmon.exe install driver/service. Mine is set to that also. It's part of the ZA firewall (so you do want to give it permission). It's used to monitor internet traffic and provide alerts. Just doesn't appear to be the actual firewall itself.

    here's some links on vsmon.exe <from google>

vsmon.exe IS indeed the firewall. The rest is just the graphic interface. If you leave the learning mode on thru 2 reboots, the proper settings for vsmon will be set for you.
