Could some kind soul please tell me why I have to turn off my Pop-up Stopper now to get to my favourite site? since the move to the new Server, I never had to do that before.

If I don't do that I keep getting the old maintenance window and although the Links get me to Wilders, if I click on a Board I go back to maintenance (USW).

    Hi Cochise,

Did you add Wilders in Pop-up Stopper back in the "old days" ?
It may have stored it under a fixed IP (the old one), which would account for you ending up in the wrong place.

    Regards,

    Pieter

    Thanks Pieter,

I can't find anywhere in PupS that would allow or disallow an IPo_O.

I will still get here anyway no matter what, even if I have to switch EVERYTHING off. :D ;)

    Hi Cochise,

Can you please try Start > Search > All Files and Folders > In the second box (search for word or expression in a file) type wilderssecurity

Hoping Pop-up Stopper stored it somewhere in a readable manner. ;)

    Regards,

    Pieter

    Sorry Pieter,

Tried that my good friend. nothing there, strangely enough at the moment I'm logging in OK now without dumping PupS, o_O??

Will see how it goes, of course I could be just hitting your maintenance outage at the right moment LOL :D

    Cheers, Cochise, ;)

That's very odd. Clearly whatever was causing this was acting the same way a Hosts file entry would - hardcoding the old IP address for wilderssecurity.com. The search Pieter had you do should have found it, (unless it's fixed now), but it's possible that the popup stopper program had encoded entries in some way that prevents a simple text search from finding it.

If the problem comes back, you should look all over that program, switch it on & switch it off, and see what changes. See if it puts a standard Hosts file in the normal location or changes something in its own folder.

The only way for your browser to bring you to the maintenance page is if wilderssecurity.com has been hardcoded to the old IP address.

I've searched about everywhere as suggested chaps, didn't find a thing!

But either way, whatever the reason, all appears to be well again. :D

    Best Regards, Cochise,
