New Version Due Anytime Soon?

I was considering purchasing DDS but it seems this version has been out for a long time and based on the time between reviews of older versions I get the impression we are about due for a new version (perhaps overhauled to provide better Vista support). Anyone have the inside scoop?

 

Acronis has hinted at a new build of DD/OSS, but they never give a date or even an estimate.

 

Good question.

I bought DD solely to dual boot XP with OEM Vista pre-installed. Then I find that it doesn't work with OEM Vista. Then, as MudCrab noted, I learn Acronis has already developed the solution to this problem but hasn't released the build that incorporates it. This is not a small group. I bet >half of the Vista installation are OEM. I would also bet that a big chunk of those who buy DD do so to dual boot. Come on Acronis, pull the trigger and release the new build.

Same reason to buy, same problem with HP vista, waiting here with a brand new laptop.

I posted a support question on this issue on their web site earlier today. No reply yet.
