New version 8 way faster than first version 8?

Since I'm posting today in another thread; may I also ask if I'm the only one to have experienced a significant speed-up for incremental back-ups with the newest version of 8.0? I use the boot up disk and run it off of there and image to an external maxtor drive. The 7.x was much faster tnan the original 8.0- so couldn't figure that out; the newer 8 seems to have solved the problem. Any explanation? As usual- sorry if this has been covered- didn't see it mentioned in the forum.

The thing is that our developers update linux kernels and linux drivers constantly. So this is just the evidence of their work. Every hardware configuration requires its own drivers to work properly and not every version of the driver can achieve the proper speed.
