new user problem with SpyBlaster

Hi this is my first post, ever! I just bought SpyBlaster because I got the "About;Blank "thing" and I keep getting an "error connecting to update server" message.
I have a Dell Inspiron and am running Windows XP with Service Pack 2.
I have already enabled the firewall to allow SpyBlaster but I still have a problem.
I have since then gotten the same About;Blank "thing" on my computer!
I run Spy Bot to get rid of it but I bought SpyBlaster to keep it off of my computer!
I am a novice in computers so any help is appreciated.

What other security/privacy software are you running?
(For example: anti-virus, anti-trojan, other anti-spyware, firewall, cleaning tools, etc.)

Also, if you got re-infected very quickly after your previous attempt to clean your system, it's likely that the tools you used weren't successful in completely removing all parts of the infection.
