I suppose all AVs will rise (i hope they do), but nobody can tell which will be "the next great AV"... its hard enough for people to agree with the "present greatest AV" and anticipating which will be the next best is even harder to say... have to wait and see... its purely guesses really, dont know what can happen in the future seeing as research and development for AVs is usually hush hush :)

As for what I think will be "the next great AV"... i don't have a clue :D

    f-port is on the rise.
drweb is getting some good new stuff.
like the better detection and removal of rootkits.
kaspersky is in the final stages of getting version 7.0 with the new Heristics.
and the better detection and removal of rootkits.
    also avg is improving alot.

Everyone has the own opinion of the best, therefore it's probably their favorite since they're using it, and there is nothing better on the horizon. :D In the upcoming AV-Comparative we'll see who is on top as far as proactive detection rates are concerned. NOD32? ;)
