I just updated to v1.44 from v1.39 and tried the new automatic setting 'OptiSeek' (described above) with the slider set to Optimum. After this defrag, I find my HDD performance to be slower than when I used the 'Consolidate' setting with 'Respect Archive' and 'Place Directories Next to MFT' checked.

Since my results seems to contradict the purpose of the new OptiSeek feature I would be interested in the observations of other users of UltimateDefrag.

i tried the new auto method (aka OptiSeek) but all it did was put all my data to the outer tracks.

this could also be done by using consolidate without the performance and archive options.

I also will wait until PerfectDisk is worned out on my harddisk. Defraggers never fascinated me.

Testing UD, seems pretty good with all the different options.

Does anyone know why it takes so long for the defragger to move the same file compared to me making a "copy" of the file in Explorer?
    700mb
    - defrag around 5 mins
    - Explorer 50 seconds.

When I watch it move the files, the HD sounds like its working hard but the result is very slow. Another thing I noticed is the Disk view shows Moving Orange boxes for a second then they are back to blue. Is this a GUI bug? I like to see Moving until its done moving. Otherwise it looks like it hunged, not colors and don't show the filename. This is noticeable with large files.
