New to Eset, have questions

Currently I am running the trail version of the NOD32 antivirus and I plan on buying a license and had a couple of question. First, can I insert the license key directly into the version I am running or do I need to uninstall and reinstall? Second, I am running the factory default settings and was wondering was that suffice or do I need to change any of the settings? I like how NOD is light and responsive so I would not want to change anything that would slow down its performance. Thank you for your time.

 

You would not have to accomplish a re-install. Enter your username and password information into the system. Typical installation settings are shown here.
Ensure your scheduled scan and scanning targets are set correctly at an interval of 10080 seconds | once weekly, at a minimum.

you can enable maximum settings by turning on advanced heuristics and real time packers for the file system protection module if you want
anyway maximum settings are applied when new files are written by default
