I installed this the other day and it found about 35 extra items that my usual RegSeeker didn't. On other peoples PC's it's found up to hundreds. I only selected around 20 of these for deletion as some were unused extention entries, which may at some point be needed. The App comes with a full backup feature, and i found it to be quick on scanning, and didn't have any problems with it.

    Really?

There isn't any point in leaving them ... if needed they'll be set again.

Site Advisor has indicated Eusing as a possible spyware site-have you found any?

As you can see All clear !

Maybe some of those 5starshare.com links have some questionable distributors etc, but that does Not mean that All the products or vendors are into adware, spyware or other unwanted programs.

I think that siteadvisor should NOT automatically lump everyone together like that, and assume 2 + 2 = 95 ? More than just a few people will be put off by reporting such as that, which can be Very harmfull to genuine vendors. For the record, i have NO affiliations with Eusing Software !

    Your analysis is very thorough.:D

Actually you are correct, the initial impulse when getting a dubious report from SA is just not to proceed ,as I did, because of the time factor involved in double checking and this could cause harm down the line.

I will try out the Cleaner.

Edit-just D/Ld and scanned with Ewido and AVG-ALL CLEAR!

I agree a little with you, because the good guys have always to pay for the sins of the bad guys and that is unfair.

On the other hand, SiteAdvisor (SA) is the first tool, that helps users to do a safer surfing and you don't need to be genius to read SA colors : green, orange, red and grey.
Surfers will think twice, when a website is marked orange/red, before they enter the website.
SA will become very popular in the future, I have no doubts about that, because it is SIMPLE.

The only big disadvantage of SA is that it is not a FIXED part of all browsers, which means that users have to KNOW about SA in order to install it.

Honest owners of an orange/red website will try to get rid of what suspicious is in order to get more visitors and that is also a very good thing.

Maybe SA is too rough in its judgement, maybe NOT, considering the fact that internet is getting worse every day. :)

Interesting. Will definitely take it for a few spins around the circuit and see what becomes of things, thanks.

    UPDATE!

I found my initial use of this new registry program invaluable for my duties indeed!! I'm personally impressed because it actually picked up on some of my testing entries that were still lodged in the registry that the other cleaners i use obviously bypassed.

For safety sake i done a copy of the reg before using it but now will dump that one and redo another more clean regcopy backup.

Thanks a bunches for sharing this new program. I like it! So far i haven't found any problems with other programs that might miss a dll or whatever and even if so theres always a backup, now a clean backup anyway.

Good find this one is IMO.

    Off Topic re SiteAdvisor;

"McAfee Acquires Web Safety Pioneer SiteAdvisor
Unique Website Rating System Adds New Level of Protection to McAfee Consumer Services

SANTA CLARA, CALIF., – April 5, 2006 – McAfee, Inc. (NYSE: MFE), the global leader in Intrusion Prevention and Security Risk Management, today announced that it has acquired web safety innovator SiteAdvisor Inc."

Probably McAfee will plug any loopholes that would allow any legal action due to wrong advice-they couldnt afford not to!

Lets hope it remains freeware-its got the potential to become an important security product.

A very smart move of McAfee and McAfee can make it more public and better.
There are still too many untested (grey) websites, but that is just a matter of time.
The power of SA is that
    - it is so simple to use for any kind of user.
    - it affects the whole internet
    - it will decrease the number of visitors of red/orange websites significantly.
    - it will force honest webmasters to clean their website.
    - it is better than IE-SPYAD and all these HOSTS files, because SA gives more info.
    - its detection rate can be improved constantly by McAfee that has alot of experience with malwares.

It's now up to the bad guys to fool SA. :D
I'm very curious what McAfee is planning to do with SA. Freeware or not it will become a bestseller.

I had been using Registry Mechanic and Registry Supreme. Eusing found 163 new items. Works very quickly.
