    In other words, the AV part of the program is on-demand and on-demand ONLY then? Cause I did misinterpret PC Doctor for having a real-time AV component.

    Yes, Kingsoft PC Doctor do have AV component, but it only works on ring 3, which means you need other AV software.

    In future we will improve the website protection, fighting phishing sites and trojan hijacking sites, but it is still more likely a windows assistant, perfectly working with other AV software.

    I installed it yesterday and i find it interesting and probably useful, i like the traffic monitoring tool very much, the system booting alert is interesting, and the other tools are ok.
    But i just find something "interesting" in the Anti-Trojan section, when you open the link "Cloud Security Identification", you are supposed to "See the progress of the analysis of unknown files from the Cloud Securty Center"
    BUT... among the other "unknown" files... there is ksignup.dll which is actually a part of Kingsoft PC Doctor.
    So, does this mean Kingsoft doesn't think that his own files are safe.. or what?

    Oops! This is a bug, because the beta version is newly released, this file hadn't been added to our cloud server. Thanks so much for your reply. We will add it soon.

    Question: how is the disk I/O of normal operation (not the scan), anyone tried an measured it?

    Hi Kees!

    Nowadays I look at this and I can't tell specifics on it, but I can say that it is definitely not heavy, not even near any AVs on my system at least. In other words it works very light on the I/O and also overall. Feels light too.

    1. The website to download is here: http://pcdoctor.kingsoft.com/ for the 2.7 version. The 2.6 English version does not exist as far as I am aware.

    2. They have a forum here: http://pcdoctor.kingsoft.com/forum/

    3. What language are you looking for. Currently I know they have an English version (the 2.7 beta) and a Chinese version in 2.6.

    I am inpressed too with this tool. Feels light here.
    But not sure if it is leaking some memory (got some indication).
    Nice feature set. Haven't find the web filtering feature yet, will it be added in next version?
    Plug-in cleaning is sort of buggy yet.
    I can see two engines scanning at the same time during trojan scanning.
    1. Cloud Engine and 2. Local V10 engine
    Is local V10 engine signature based or just behavior based?
    The detection is OK so far but a number of false heuristic detections which is understandable based on the nature of those files. But it would be nice to have an option to report those files as false positive rather than trusting those files.
    Some spelling mistake is there.
    In case of "Trust" it was written as "Trus".
    Overall a nice tool to have and OK on-demand scanner plus a nice set of working optimization tools. Interface is nice as expected from Kingsoft.

    1. Engine is mixed with signature and behavior, but not hips, and only working on ring 3. Our position is Windows assistant, make your computer running smoothly, even you don't know computer so much.
    2. Reporting unknown files as false positive rather than trusting, this strategy would be reviewed by our developers, but currently I recommended use it with another antivirus. :)
    3. I'm so sorry for the mis-spelling words, if you find more, please tell me. We need your suggestions to make Kingsoft PC Doctor better.
    4. Leaking memory? Could you please show some indication you got?
    5. Plug-in cleaning needs large lib, please give us some time to improve it.

    2.7 is coming soon, and others are in progress. Multi-languages version, this should be a bit longer.
