new owners reading my emails

    Hi there. I am new here and so grateful to have found this forum.
    I have really a big problem. I have handed over my company to someone else, thinking they are friends, and after they transferred domain to their hose, they have given me a new password and my old email address as this was our agreement, so I can take time to transfer all my emails to new email address I have now. After a week, my email didn't work any more and they didn't reply to my enquiries.

    After I told them that I have private information, bills etc etc that I must sort out, they said they will look into it. In the meantime they are forwarding me selective emails (I know they are selective) and some are to do with my credit card accounts etc. So I do know they are reading my mail and just giving me excuses every day why is my email "not working".

    Strange thing is that I can still open webmail on my old host but of course no emails get there they all go to this new provider.

    What can I do? How does the email know where to go when apparentlly there are two hosts that have my email? Please help anyone.
    That teaches me to trust "friends".

    they obvious can and are reading them...

    are the emails your getting from them dated after or before the last time you could access your account? if after they might just be redirecting. if before they are looking through them and having a laugh at your expense.

    if your sure they are looking through, that is if the emails they send you are dated to some time before you could last access your account... then legal proceedings may be worth considering.
