If you are a Linux user but dislike OS wars discussions, "my security is better than yours" etc., you might want to give this forum a try.
And then there's a forum section titled "MS bashing" No thanks, I'll stick with Wilders security...or...any other fair minded forum.
Good. If you think it is "fair" for shills to intentionally spread MS FUD in a Linux forum, you'd probably be banned anyway.
I don't spread "MS FUD", Anti-MS FUD. Linux FUD, Anti-Linux FUD As for the "you'd probably be banned anyway", that's impossible...I said "No thanks" If the new Linux forum is nothing more than a joke then I guess my sense of humor is on the blink, sorry BTW, Wilders Security has a rule against "vs", does the rule only apply to AV vs AV ? I only ask because MS vs Linux is starting to run rampant.......oh well, I guess Wilders is more tolerant than the New Linux Forum
I didn't say you did. But you apparently think it's unfair to ban people who do. That's fine. You are entitled to your opinion and I doubt seriously that anyone in the forum will miss you. IMO, MS deserves a good bashing every now and then.
I think it does only apply to the AV vs AV threads. There are firewall vs firewall threads that haven't been closed. It was just getting ridiculous in the AV forum. At least that's my understanding of the situation....
This site has tolerance, but there are limits. This subforum is dedicated to "all things UNIX" and Unix/Linux should be the focus of the forum. This forum should not become a locale for MS OS advocates to rally. It's for Unix/Linux discussions. There are other sections of the site for discussion non-Unix based OS options, say here. Does that mean that simple mention of MS is off limits? Of course not. Use reasonable judgement, although that seems in short supply most of the time. With respect to discussions comparing and contrasting the detailed technical merits of software, that type of technically oriented discussion is always welcome. Look at the explicit statement regarding A vs. B type arguments: Note the highlighted portion. That is key. Blue
Well, that's enough of the "please activate my account" messages. Wilders Security is not in the habit of letting people advertise their own forums here. You got your "one thread" to announce that your forum exists (like we've allowed others to post). Now, if anyone else wants to join that forum and somehow needs an activation - use PM to contact the forum owner. Best wishes with your forum. Thread closed.
