I was running Drive Sentry and PCTools FW, I know the FW isn't a hips. TF is. But I had it disabled.

    1. Drive Sentry Access List
    2. Drive Sentry alert message on Keylogger
    3. Drive Sentry Screen logger FAIL
    4. Drive Sentry Alert #2 Which is hidden behind the Zemana window. The DS Alert window doesn't have priority.

Thank you aigle!!! Wow.. all passed except the key logger, interesting. Not bad for a dead product. I feel guilty for uninstalling SafeSpace :( and going with GesWall Pro......

No need to be guilty. SafeSpace is much more aggressive in sandboxing than GW. But this also gives rise to usability issues. It would have been improved a lot but now it,s dead.

GesWall is realtively more balanced for good usability and strong security at the same time.

I tried defensewall, and it put keyboard.exe as trusted. I have no idea how to make it untrusted.

Thanks - found it. I wish I could make everything untrusted by default.

It would be nice if it prompted every time like Comodo does. Then you could just make a decision.

@Saraceno: Not familiar with Mamutu but I've installed it on a virtual machine. I activated guard + paranoid mode and it seems it fails all the tests (I can't test Webcam logger though)

aigle, is this the SafeSpace Personal Edition you are talking about?

Download.com shows SafeSpace Free Edition 2.0.41 just added on May 12th, 2008.

    @Someone,
    Thank you.
After posting, I went back to the SafeSpace site and found their Forum Announcement on July 1st. What a shame!

I just like the prompts more. It's a matter of preference. I decided to use Threatfire for now even though it fails the tests. Maybe if it really was malicious, Threatfire would pick up something.

    Hello mvdu,

By default in regular mode, DefenseWall(DW) will automatically mark anything downloaded via any of the threatgate applications(web browsers, email clients, instant messaging programs, file sharing programs(P2P; peer-to-peer), media players, FTP clients, download managers, etc...) as "untrusted". On the other hand, DW will not do so automatically if "Expert Mode" is enabled. Please take a look at the following link below.

    http://softsphere.com/online-help/defensewall/expertmode.htm (Expert Mode)

    Peace & Gratitude,

    CogitoErgoSum

yes but, Zemana tests are digitally signed, so these tests are automatically placed in trusted application group, so if you put it in low restricted group which will most certainly be the group in real world, only screanlogger is passed (with slight modification, see screeny) and all other are failed.

Note: in spite of KAV and KIS have keylogger detection (see screeny2) there is no response for Zemana keylogg test

Even though SafeSpace development is discountinued (the technology was incorporated into the parent company's corporate product line), it's still a powerfull sandbox security app, it passed 3 out of the four. Most of the other security apps tested here had weaker results.

Like aigle stated, usability issues and lack of support is the only problem with SafeSpace.
