New install ess v650 no immediate update

I have just done a new install of ESS on a new vista machine. Has anyone noticed there is no immediate update of AV databases?

ESS reports to windows security centre that it is up to date and scanning is on - it also reports it is up to date in the ESS program and that the virus database is current. However ess also states that under last successful update that no update has been run...

I manually did an update and it downloaded a fairly large update and all is ok..

Surely there is a security risk here between install and whenever ess decides to do an update?

 

I've noticed it too. Maybe it would be a good thing to fix in the near future? No big problem for me, but maybe it is for others.
