When you start your new thread....simply state who's ghst files appear to be causing the problem. The issue can be easily resolved regardless of the chain of events you are mentioning. Since Tay has now created a new set of ghst files....it's best to start your own thread and state now which files you are using that may now be causing log issues with large files.

Thanks Tay! Anyone care to answer me this question. With all the different ghst files now from different people, do all of them work together or conflict? Like do the defualt Auto Run and Special Regitery Items work well with Puff-M-D's Regrun Entries plus Tony's Ghst File plus Tay's new v2?

I'm at day 0. It will probably be a waste of thread when I reboot this computer. I'm still thinking it's not entirely Tay's files fault. Do you know any applications that will compile a 452mb log - rendering it virtually impossible to remove via the gui? If I have the un fortune to have to re image or reformat, I will give it another shot.

I never changed any setting but now that you mentioned it, I looked and it's, somehow, set to read only. Changing attributes does not work. It reverts to read only. Isn't this normal to be "read only"? I made a new folder and it's automatically set to "read only" and cannot be reset.

Tay, any folder I create is automatically read only and cannot be changed. I should go look around folder options to see if I can change that.

it's fixed. This is why there is a problem. Within minutes the log file has grown to 21mb. It just keeps on growing and growing. Is there a way to ignore/disable application firewall "allow" logs? It is now 27mb since I indicated 21mb *edit 50mb now - I have disabled at this time because we have seen it grow to 452mb and I don't want to see it's limits - imagine: I leave this computer on 24/7

The next version of RegDefend allows each specific registry rule to be "controlled" in the log, whether on allow, block, etc.

what? Where we supposed to keep the groups in their own folders? I have them all together. According to my computer settings, every folder I create is automatically read only. *edit - folders themselves are read only but the files contained within them can still be written

Hi Tay, Can you please post your latest versions and information to this thread https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=85131 and then create a discussion thread as specified in the above link.

You can see that Puff_m_Daddy has already done this with his regrun group.

We think that this is the best way of structuring the tested and untested groups.

Once you have posted your groups there and created a discussion thread for your latest version this thread will be closed.

    Thank you Pilli :)
