I have an ATI of "C" drive archived on a partition on a second internal HDD and/or discs and a set of Rescue Media floppys.
Is there any reason why I can't remove the primary drive and replace it with a new larger drive.
Isn't this the route to take if I had a mechanical failure of the primary drive?
    How about formatting and such?
The primary drive didn't fail..I just want a bigger one.

Take out your old primary drive.
    Boot with Rescue CD.
    Restore image.

    -or-

Boot PC with rescue CD with new and old hard drives plugged in.
    Choose Clone option

With either option, you aren't required to do any manual partitioning or formatting ahead of time. ATI performs all of these tasks.

    Thanks, wdorman..
Removed old drive, installed new drive, booted with ATI rescue media, restored image from partition on slave hard drive, activated WinXP (by phone)...start to finish, about 35 min.
