I was so waiting for this '.0.1' release. Fx seems to have been having a slight amount of not responding/freezing for me.

My 48.0.1 version is working great. :)

The possible new update refers to a Websense startup crash, which is not affecting my version.

48.0.1 works for me 95% of the time, but there have been odd things happening (freezes, not responding, and others) which just didn't happen before version 48. From what I can gather I'm not the only person to notice this. I've gone back to Maxthon as my default with SeaMonkey as back up. Of the five browsers running on my Win 7 machine: Maxthon, Chrome, SeaMonkey, Firefox & K-Meleon (IE is switched off), only Fx is having any issues. I'm guessing Mozilla will fix it soon enough.

Have you tried all the usual troubleshooting suspects: no add-ons, Safe mode, new profile, etc.?

Also, look at the 48.0 Release Notes, perhaps there's a change or an addition that's affecting your version in your PC.

FYI. If anyone else is having current Firefox version issues, another place to look for unresolved bugs is Firefox Release Health.

At the bottom of that page, you can also see the unresolved bugs for the Beta, Developer Edition, and Nightly channels.

It's difficult to tell really as it seems fine most of the time. I don't have many add ons, it may be one though. It's just as I'm using it as a day to day browser it seems to be a tad buggy sometimes. I'm pretty sure Fx was the cause of a computer crash while I was watching streamed television a couple of weeks ago. System crashes are virtually non-existent for me and for the past fortnight neither Maxthon or SeaMonkey have displayed any unusual activity, plus the computer hasn't crashed while watching video/flash content in Mx or SM.

They are usually the issue, and the troubleshooting procedure is a pain, but worth the effort.

BTW, I'm only running AdBlock Plus, NoScript, and the Web Developer extensions.

The trouble with troubleshooting is the phenomenon I'm experiencing is sporadic and often non-repeatable or reproducible.

It could well be that one of these is the culprit but it's very difficult to determine which one. Luckily, I have them all on SeaMonkey. ;)

48.0.1 works faultlessly for me. I feel left out.

    It's OK, you don't need the drama. ;) :D

If I was a betting man, I'd say it's the SmoothWheel one, especially if you have ticked the Use Smooth Scrolling box in Options > Advanced > General tab. Could be Use Autoscrolling as well. :cautious:

I'd say that was a good bet.

It makes sense for some software companies to write software only for Mozilla's ESR version.

It reduces the burden of having to rapidly update it to be compatible with a new browser version.
