That article did not help with its solution. So I guess it is chrome or chrome based browsers and operal, maxthon and others. No firefox until they fix this mess.

Probably 2. Blocking all SHA-1 certificates will probably cause a lot of websites being blocked, but setting it to to will only block new certificates(issued after 2016-01-01) that still use SHA 1 instead of SHA 2. Mozilla set it back to 0 because of issues with some HTTPS scanning products, but if you're affected by this you would probably already have noticed because then all HTTPS websites would be inaccesible.(or most of them, some AV's don't scan sites with EV certificates or HPKP)

Hmm strange, Firefox's files should be signed by a SHA256 certificate as of 43.0.2, but it still shows SHA1. Looking at the bug(https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1079858) it looks like it should be dual signed with SHA1 and SHA256. The new version of KeePass is dual signed as well, and the SHA256 certificate shows up fine.

Is the option to still use unsigned addons (xpinstall.signatures.require:false) via the config still work or has it been removed permanently from v44?

I found this article with instructions on how "to permanently disable all kinds of web push notifications" via about:config.

    http://www.trishtech.com/2016/01/how-to-disable-web-push-notifications-in-firefox/

The instructions are almost at the bottom of the page. Nice.

You are welcome Vasa. I dont know how often I ll get one of this notifications without making the change in about:config but I am not interested in being notified about anything while browsing.:)

Me too! I found 2 more and set them both to False, until I find more about them:

    dom.webnotifications.enabled and dom.webnotifications.serviceworker.enabled

J R, this article mentions setting dom.webnotifications.enabled to false as another way of turning notifications off..

source for that information? or just a silly joke/hoax? there is no version build yet.

I'll go with... hoax! I've never perpetrate a hoax. Tho I'm sure I'm not the first to do so here at Wilders. :D

My source is many, many years of hands-on with Firefox. Shortly after any x.0.0 release there comes x.0.1. In two or a few days or at most a couple of weeks with rare, very rare exception.

I once worked in a large enterprise IT department where the crew had an office pool presenting a free lunch prize at the campus cafeteria to the person who most closely predicted the date/time of the x.0.1 release after x.0.0 (and for Thunderbird).

Perhaps you don't fully understand the concept of "begin countdown" (Not a concept in your native tongue?) or you never noticed the near-predictable history of FF releases. Or both.

no source - only assuming - so su please. there is no reason to announce a 0.1 now, anything is fine.

i dont say that it is not possible but right now there is no known issue. i dont asked you without reason for your statement - you have none.

if you experience some issues go to a firefox forum and speak up.
