With this update the Pocket button finally appeared on the toolbar, it wasn't showing with 38.05 (not in customize either).

Firefox 39 doesn't warn when closing multiple tabs via the Exit Firefox button (Open Menu button) or File Exit (Menu Bar).

First, let me state that I don't know how long this has been going on, just noticed it last night in 2 different FF39 installations. When clicking the red X, the browser warns:

    2015-07-11_105806.png

However, both the Exit Firefox button and/or File Exit, closes the browser, without warning, no matter how many tabs are opened. I have selected the Warn me when closing multiple tabs box in Options > General.

Searching the Net, the only solution that I have found is via about:config, to set browser.showQuitWarning to True, changing the prompt to this:

    2015-07-11_105921.png

Now, it doesn't matter what method is used to close the browser, the above Save and Quit prompt is shown, stopping the browser from closing if multiple tabs are opened.

Perhaps other members can check if they are experiencing the same lack of multiple tab warning, and post.

If you have show my windows and tabs from last time selected under the General tab options when Firefox starts:, then the warning is not shown since the tabs will be reopened the next time you start FF. It takes preference over the tab option. Change the general setting to something else and you will see the warning again.

Adric, I have the Options> General Tab > When Firefox Starts set to Show My Home Page, which is the Mozilla Firefox Start Page.

To test your theory, I kept that setting the same, and set back, via about:config, the browser.showQuitWarning to False. I was able to close 2 tabs without any warnings. Reverted to True, and I now get the Save and Quit prompt.

As Stated in the Beta thread, Mozilla is getting ready to remove certain Tab options from the Firefox 40 stable version, as soon as that's released.

I had so much trouble with 39 (especially with saving images) that I went to the 38.1 ESR for now.

Would anyone know if the mint/ubuntu repositries will host a 64-bit version in the future or will this need to be downloaded as a separate file.?

    Thanks.

    From the release notes:
"Security researcher Cody Crews reported on a way to violate the same origin policy and inject script into a non-privileged part of the built-in PDF Viewer. This would allow an attacker to read and steal sensitive local files on the victim's computer."

Looks like an essential update to me.

    Thanks for the heads up.

Iceweasel 31.8 ESR (Debian Jessie's default browser) wasn't affected by latest bug. Ubuntu devs are genius because they are releasing latest Firefox to their users :p
