New cool list of Windows must have programs

    There's a pack of portable apps available over at ... portableapps, which covers quite a few of these.

    there few programs ....

    and are they really portable or write on the hard disk
    for example firefox without a profile doesn't work
    i have a profile for me my installed firefox

    If you're not aware of The Portable Freeware Collection site, http://www.portablefreeware.com/, it's a good alternative to PortableApps. The overview of each product contains information about where the app writes settings to and whether it is truly stealth.

    Excellent list; thanks for taking the trouble to write it up.:cool:

    JMT: Irfanview, which IMHO, is one of the best image viewers around also has a fast and excellent batch conversion/resizing/renaming option. You've already explained it in your excellent Irfanview tutorial, maybe you can mention that under its main entry too so readers know about it.:)
