    Hi All,

Here is an update of the 2.06 beta version.

    The links to download it:
    English: http://looknstop.soft4ever.com/Beta/2.06b2/LooknStop_Setup_206b2.exe
    French: http://looknstop.soft4ever.com/Beta/2.06b2/Installation_LooknStop_206b2.exe

As usual, no need to uninstall the previous version to install this new one.

Here is the list of changes:

    Added:
    • DLL filtering for Windows Vista.
    Changes:
    • New display options in the TCP connections dialog box.
    • Added more information for TCP SPI alerts (Windows 2000/XP/Vista only)
    Fixes:
    • Windows 2000/XP/Vista only: Several fixes and improvements in TCP Stateful Packet Inspection (in particular in timeout handling)
    • Problem sometimes when doing rule copy/paste in Internet Filtering.
    • Problem sometimes when displaying IP address in Application Filtering alerts.
    • For Win9x/Me only: connected applications were never removed from the list in the Application Filtering tab.
The previous post for the 2.06b1 additions is there:
    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=165767

Note: the automatic update from the options page will not detect this version. It works only for official releases (2.05 => 2.06, and 2.06bx => 2.06 will be normally detected).

    Regards,

    Frederic

Awesome, i hope the dll filtering will work correctly for 2003 now. I'll try it out and see how it goes.

Nothing specific to 2003 has been introduced, so I'm afraid the problem is still there :(
Perhaps the specific DLL detection handling for Vista would work for 2003. I will check that (the current driver consider 2003 as 2000/XP).

    Which version of 2003 are you using: Entreprise/Standard/Web, w/ or w/o SP1 ?

No success unfortunately, still the same bsod with dll filtering enabled. I was hoping the inclusion of dll filtering for vista might also work on 2003 as i have read that vista is based on 2003. I'm currently running server 2003 standard with the new sp2 installed.

    Hi farmerlee,

I've investigated and Windows 2003 needs to be handled specifically.
Please contact me at looknstop@soft4ever.com and I will send you a new driver for testing.

I just remembered during the install of this version getting an error message 1.25 during driver install. After the reboot the firewall started fine and is full stealth at GRC's site. It seems to be running perfectly fine in all ways. Is this more of a windows home XP issue?...  :)

    Hi,

Could you explain what do you mean by "error message 1.25" ?
Perhaps should check the drivers versions from the console window:
    "Look 'n' Stop Version 2.06 Beta 02

    Driver versions: 5.02 & 4.02
    API Driver versions: 6.01 & 5.01
    ..."
to be sure you are running the right versions.

It was during installation that the driver error message popped up. All the drivers noted above are there and it's running great now. It shows as full stealth at two sites I use, weird eh?

Yes, this is strange. I've no idea what this message could be.

Were you updating from the 2.06b1, or was it a fresh 2.06b2 install ?

On a fresh install there could be some error, but on an update it would be even stranger.

Ok, good, thanks for your report.

This was a new install. I took the 2.06b1 version off to try Zone Alarm for a day. Man what a dinosaur that thing is...   . Anyway despite that install error message it's running great...:thumb:

    Hello Frederic,

Please seriously consider incorporating a password protection feature in a future version of Look'n'Stop to prevent the unauthorized uninstallation of LnS.

    Peace & Love,
