You need to register to get the download: http://betatest.avira.com/profile/register.php It took me a few tries before I finally got access so be persistent.

Can anyone explain to me how I can change a setting in the firewall?
When I started my pc I got a pop up asking if A Squared/Mamutu could connect to the internet.
I mistakenly clicked 'No' and also clicked to remember the answer.
So how do I undo this?
Other than that, Beta 9 is running light and I'm liking it so far. Which is interesting because I've never left a 'Suite' on my pc for very long.
    Thanks.

if you are running the beta, just reboot. It will ask all over again as it is not saving those settings in a reboot. Fix is on the way,

An Avira representative should email you back, telling you that you have access to the Downloads section of the beta test website.

Avira has always been light. IMHO, you need not worry about this issue.

i just registered but i have not gotten the email from avira yet
I would like to test it on my xp pro test computer where i am running the free version now.
I am getting very disillusioned with AVG these days.

recently i've learned their malware scanner doesn't protect against rootkit and you must do a manual scan to find out if are you infected . they say if you happen to find some rootkits then bla bla bla junk. I have been using it for couple of years and i thought i was protected but nope
Avira seems to do a rather good job for me and it is getting better:thumb:

The last beta is lighter on my laptop than Avira 8 Premium.

it is lighter. They have actually conbined some processes that run, so there are fewer. This is the lightest suite I have ever run. It is basically zero impact on your system resources.

The new Webloader is cool and meant just for this. When ready, and I dont say this as a fanboy, Avira is getting ready to redefine , what a Suite is and what a Suite does.:thumb:

I am a beta tester but have not tried the latest build. I'll install it today and I am looking for lightness- that is my primary concern.

Does it surpass NIS 09 in terms of lightness?

oh heaven sakes yes. I personally think F-Secure is lighter then NIS, after loaded and updated. But yes, Aviras suite is lighter then most AVs. :D
