Most of the people that would buy an iPad didn't know why they needed a PC to begin with. They check email and Facebook and that's about it. The people that need PCs will still buy them. When you can buy a laptop that does quite a bit more for half as much money a tablet will not be in my future.

I wouldn't use a touch only device even if you paid me

Plus, a PC will kick an iPad's arse out of the water any time of the day, there is no comparison, two totally diff. devices

Yes Tablets have improved big time, but never a replacement for us power users

as you said, iPads are for Granny's and mommies who know nothing better than surfing the net and Facebook! ROFL

Yeah, the iPad is no threat to people who use real computers. Tablets have a way to go yet IMO.

What complete crap! I use my PC a lot, mainly for gaming, but when it comes to lounging on the sofa and wanting to surf, play some games, check emails etc., the iPad does me very well. It compliments having a pc rather than looking to replace it.

Does it have a word processor or spread sheet capability? Can I edit photographs?

A generalization maybe, but complete crap, no. Keep in mind these are responses to an article entitled "New Apple iPad kicks PC industry while it's down"
