It might be your combo of security software. I've never seen anything remotely like a crash from ERP

It happens. I have submitted (4) BSOD mem dumps to Andreas over the past year. Each crash involved different softs or drivers. NVT ERP is just like any other soft - "stuff" can happen.

Despite rare crash, NVT ERP is gold.

Do you Enable self defense ...?

Yes. But there was (1) driver conflict, (1) crash during Learning Mode, (1) crash at boot because NVT ERP blocked execution of a file, and I can't remember on the last one.

I had (1) tray Icon blink out. That's when I enabled self defense. Nothing to report since.

I forgot to mention that ERP was in learning mode when it crashed

Last year I submitted some dump-files too.
I saw the ERP-trayicon a few seconds after logging in, but then it was gone -> ERP crashed.

In my case the crashing of ERP was solved with the latest beta. It never happened again.

The whole point of this is ERP needs continued development as any other software but the dev is MIA. Hey but it is not under abandonware category... they sayo_O
I start to have a lot of serious doubts about it.:cautious:

You can only develop an Anti Executable so far. Look at Faronics Anti Executable. Not much has changed there either.

Could be - ominous silence. :shifty:
But I hope simplicity is not lost in the process.

I just see one minor bug. Set NVT ERP to Learning Mode. Leave it run for a few weeks. It does not create Allow rules in all instances.

It is no big deal. User can create the required rules in Alert Mode.

If i look at the NVT-Homepage there a lot of new tools, and tools are regulary updated.
I think ERP is not high priority right now.

In the last weeks/months i wrote some mails about bugs in some of their tools (memory leaks, crashes, etc.) but i got no response o_O
Last year i always got a response, sometimes within hours (and even the problem i reported was fixed within this time)

The beta freeware is crashing too much.
I tried learning mode, I tried whitelisting everything in windows folder and programs folder, and then when I go back to alert mode, and I reboot, same old story again. It stalls on certain processes, freezes, and crashes.
    Yes, my system is clean.
I think I will go back to SecureAPlus, until the dev fixes the bugs in ERP.

Windows 10 pro x64 stable build
    HitmanPro.Alert
    Bitdefender Total Security 2016

You are unlucky, never happened to me; the only bug i found is ERP sometimes "forgot" to start at the boot; so i must do it manually.

    I agree

ERP is already feature rich, so no need for more extras, just stability improvements here and there.

The only issue i have is every so often if explorer.exe crashes that it takes the ERP icon down along with it. There has been a couple of other times (this is weird) on doing something very simple like changing the audio file for the alerts that the whole shebang goes down. This still happens on occasion but isn't of any concern since you just start it up again and all is well.

-- I also have that in Win 8.1, sometimes it really doesn't start automatically at boot :( Had to start it manually also. Other than that no crashes here.

There's a bug on ERP side not Shadow Defender, when machine restarts and gets out of shadow mode, sometimes randomly all Settings, Lists, etc files are reset to their defaults. Shadow Defender already tried to fix this but still happening.

Same over here, I don't have any problems at all, perhaps it's related to Win 10. I do think it's sad that ERP development seems to have stopped.

same here, and it seems not only ERP but SOB too. We used to have at least some bugs fixes from time to time, but now it has been way too long. I'm wondering if NVT is in some company-related issues that put the software development postponed.
