    which are? thanks.

I have been looking for a program that does HIPS only, no firewall.

The only ones I can find such as comodo are also a firewall, nod32 HIPS seems poor and I dont like using it.

Probably because Andreas is busy on other things. Releasing it won't really change much, just install that beta and turn off search for new updates

I know ERP is not the problem, it's just this telemetry crap in Windows 8.1 x64. I updated my OS yesterday and now some processes are nagging constantly with erp pop-ups:
    C:\Windows\system32\rundll32.exe invagent.dll,RunUpdate -noappraiser
    [564]C:\Windows\system32\svchost.exe

    C:\Windows\system32\rundll32.exe invagent.dll,RunUpdate -noappraiser
    [404]C:\Windows\system32\svchost.exe

    C:\Windows\system32\rundll32.exe C:\Windows\system32\GeneralTel.dll,RunGeneralTelemetry "C:\Windows\appcompat\appraiser\Telemetry\Appraiser_GenTelOutput.xml" 6oF90sjQhUm9qkAZ.3 ThrottleUtc
    [4112]C:\Windows\system32\CompatTelRunner.exe

    C:\Windows\system32\rundll32.exe C:\Windows\system32\GeneralTel.dll,RunGeneralTelemetry "C:\Windows\appcompat\appraiser\Telemetry\Appraiser_GenTelOutput.xml"
    [5848]C:\Windows\system32\CompatTelRunner.exe

Those two processes with different and random PIDs are showing every 5 minutes even though I blacklist them.
How to rule them out using a wildcard or something... please.

The last beta he released has worked flawless for me. Are you experiencing bugs with the last beta, or have you tried it?

I have a similar issue with telemetry on Windows 7X64, but I usually only get prompted for it once or twice a day. I blocked telemetry from accessing the internet when I was first prompted by it so it could not download additional components. Did you block it with your firewall when you first realized it was installed on your system? I just wonder why you get it so often since I usually get it no more than twice a day. Maybe it runs more often on Windows 8.1 than on Windows 7, or maybe it's due to some other reason.

This is the only rule command line white list I have for generaltel. I think I made this rule a long time ago under windows 7. You can give this a try. I do not see these prompts, but did at the start if I remember correctly.

    Code:
    rundll32 C:\Windows\system32\generaltel.dll,RunInUser????????????????????.? IsAdmin

I am running NVT ERP on W8.1 x86-64 OEM Toshiba AMD

I just white-listed the following command line: C:\Windows\system32\rundll32.exe invagent.dll,RunUpdate -noappraiser

    No more ERP notifications...

lol I forgot to mention that I don't want to whitelist them. By doing that I agree to let em run no? I don't want those components to send any data out of my PC by no means.
Maybe I don't really understand how an anti-executable works. Whitelisting a process ERP won't show warnings anymore, why not the same for blacklisting?

Yep I blocked with WFC when C:\Windows\system32\CompatTelRunner.exe first showed up. The other process never trigger WFC to allow the Internet.

My mistake, Yes whitelist will allow them. Unfortunately I dont think there is a way Blacklist as adding items to the blacklist requires an executable and not *.dll or any other.
It does work the same way, even though it wont show a pop up, it will be recorded into events, if I understand you correctly. For the same reasons above it has to be an exe for it to be added to the blacklist and whitelist, with *.dll being an command line whitelist. But i see what you mean. If you can whitelist a dll, why not block it. I guess its asking too much from this software and hence why Andreas is working on SmartObjectBlocker.

Got it and I remember SOB, yeah it seems a powerful beautiful program in its infancy. Thank you for your kind reply.

That's why integrating SOB and ERP makes so much sense. Plus, if the SOB is integrated with ERP, then to activate the SOB functionality should require payment. After all, Andreas has to eat...

I'm all for that arrangement since NVT softs are quite cheap compared to other vendors.

I agreed with you, as long Andreas keeps low licensing prices I'm willing to purchase one or two licenses. Beautiful software he makes and constant support at Wilders, nice.
