No problem, I didn't mean it in a harsh way, I just wanted to let you know that there was already a bit of discussion going on about it. And to clarify, it would not be a separate mode, it should only be visible in the alert window.

Yes, but the dialog size problem "seems" to have been fixed in the latest beta v3.1_19012015_BUILD1.

I emailed Andreas about this issue previously -- however I've recently reinstalled Windows, and therefore cannot be sure exactly why the problem has disappeared...

The problem as seen in Windows 7, when configured with a non-default Font Size (set in the Control Panel > Personalization > Display).

With Windows font size = 125% ... bottom line chopped off:

BTW, I've installed the newest version, and ERP still has problems with white-listing, it does not remember rules I make for Process Monitor and FIFA 06. It also does not remember column-sizes. And I'm still waiting for the "install-mode".

Thanks for confirming this Rasheed. As I'm a novice user, thought I was doing something wrong with the white-listing stuff. For me is not remembering rules for any program I currently use.

Um, so whitelist is empty ? Try right click whitelist running processes. Just to verify ERP is working. If no joy. Maybe, clean install.

I did that already when I run ERP for the very first time. I opened a lot of trusted programs / applications and right clicked to whitelist their running processes but it never worked. I'm a bit reluctant to clean install because it's a recent installation on a new Windows installation.

I'm not sure what's going on, but it seems like ERP can remember all the rules from my saved rules database, but when I try to make new ones, most of them are not saved. For example, I also can't make a rule for WPS Writer, very annoying, I wonder what's going on, I mean this is basic functionality that's not working.

Here is an update about the issue reported by @Rasheed187 @Mister X

In case you have AppGuard installed, you should add EXERadar.exe and ERPSvc.exe in "Power Applications".

In case ERP cannot save the whitelists, it writes the errors to a log file located here:

    C:\Users\{user}\AppData\Local\Temp\ERPErrors.log

Please check it to see what is happening, an example of error messages:

In this case there is another program that is blocking EXERadar.exe and/or ERPSvc.exe from writing to:

    C:\ProgramData\NoVirusThanks\EXE Radar Pro\Data\WhiteList.db

Thanks for the reply, I've sent you a PM, the problem is that ERP is indeed somehow blocked from writing to the "C:\ProgramData\NoVirusThanks\EXE Radar Pro\Data" folder. However, other settings like "WhiteList: Parent Process and File Locations" are saved correctly.

BTW, what about the "alert-mode", are you having problems with implementing this? I also hope you can find a way to make ERP remember column-size, for example in the "Events" window.

Funny observation. ERP protection disabled ERP pop's Allow Block box for Firefox. I do have AppGuard. So, I'll add EXERadar.exe and ERPSvc.exe in "Power Applications".
Wonder if DRP is affected by AppGuard.....
    Trying to open > C:\ProgramData\NoVirusThanks\EXE Radar Pro\Data\WhiteList.db
ERP pop's Sandboxie\Start.exe and I'm not running Sandboxie ? I'm in a loop trying to open WhiteList.db outside Sandbox. o_O
EDIT: anomalies on Vista box....W8.1 seems ok...no ERP Error log @ C:\Users\{user}\AppData\Local\Temp\ERPErrors.log

I guess not bjm_, it is not affected by AppGuard.
After a reboot ERP began to popup warnings.
I'm on Win8.1.3 and that could be the problem. Or SBIE?

    Update:
    AppGuard > shields down
    Zemana AL > shields down
    MBAE > shields down

And still getting this ERPErrors.log file:

I am pretty sure Zemana AL and MBAE have nothing to do with these issues, even so I disabled protection.
AppGuard has its protection level set to Off.

I can logically deduce it's something else conflicting with ERP

I get the same error on Win 8.1 64 bit, with only SBIE installed. I'm not sure what's causing it.

    Hi Mister X

If you really want to eliminate conflicts you can't just turn off other security software, you have to uninstall it. Even turned off services and drivers are present.

    Update:
Uninstalled AppGuard, Sandboxie, Zemana AL and MBAE.
Confirmed. Error [5 - Access is denied] persists.

On Windows 8.1 u3 x64, ERP v3.1_25012015_BUILD1 either this beta has a bug / incompatibility or my own scenario has a unique conflict with it.

    @Rasheed187 @Mister X

Definitely a strange issue since C:\ProgramData\* should be writeable by any program.

I wonder if you have permissions to write to C:\ProgramData\ ?

    Please try the following:

    1) Open Start->Run and type cmd.exe to open command prompt
    2) Type this text: echo "Testing" > C:\ProgramData\NoVirusThanks\EXE Radar Pro\Data\WhiteListTesting.db
    3) Let me know if as output you get like "Access denied."

In this case seems there are some issues with folders permissions (write).

    Do as follow:

    1) Go to C:\ProgramData\NoVirusThanks\EXE Radar Pro\
    2) Right-click with the mouse over the folder named "Data"
    3) Browse to "Security" tab
    4) Select the "Users and Group" with the name of your actual logged in user
    5) Make a screenshot of the "Authorizations per users" with "Allow" and "Deny" checkboxes displayed (send by PM)

    //Edit

Seems that Windows 8 changes the user ownership of the C:\ProgramData\* folders with no write-permission for standard users.

A workaround is to set back the write permissions, like in this image:
    http://s18.postimg.org/5x9lddz3b/erpfix1.png

I will see what can be done to fix this on the next build.

I will try the workaround, but like Mister X said, other apps haven't got any problems with writing to this folder, so there must indeed be something wrong with ERP on Win 8.
