Well, i thank you for that proposal. You're always willing to help:thumb:

    But i uninstalled:D
I was just asking for your opinion on it. It seems you think it's a good FW, if one knows what to do, or how it works, which was my impression too. It covers alot of ground, specially if one has kids using the computer. But making rules is confusing, for me anyway.

If anyone needs your input on how to use it, ok, but you don't need to do that for me. I was just curious. I don't think i'll be using it.

    Thanks anyway!

    Stem...and Someone,

Sorry, I misread the post by "Someone", especially the last line about "as soon as they figure out Netveda". In scanning over the post I incorrectly read/interpreted that as, "as soon as the Netveda developers" figure it out. My mistake. Had I re-read it a second time before posting, I wouldn't have posted that reply.

In regards to using a firewall that is out of development, I don't have an issue with that at all, especially considering the fact that I use Kerio 2.1.5 myself.

Like I said, it was just an old brain misinterpretation o_O

EDIT "Someone", if you have kids using the computer you might want to check out K9 web protection. I use this on all my computers and highly recommend it. http://www.k9webprotection.com/ In my opinion it is great even for computers not used by children.

Luckily or otherwise, i don't have kids, i was just making Wilders parents here aware of the fact that this FW could do the trick for them.

I think they can even allow their kids to only visit some sites (whitelist), instead of blocking some. That way they visit sites on a permition basis: "dad, can i go there..."
They can also filter words like XXX, porn, cracks, whatever.

It's an interesting FW for that. It's very flexible.

Several people on the Netveda forums (now abandoned apparently) complained that the program all of a sudden was asking for a license key after having been used for about a year (which made it look like the program was provided on a trial basis). You can try this out by installing it and then advancing the date of your PC to a date several years in the future and see if you get the same prompt. The forum posters said that the old license keys did not work and nobody knew of any that did.
