win764bit 4.6.1 is offered every month in windows updates but is always unticked. should this be installed and have there been any issues with this update? thanks for your help.
It's probably unticked so that you just install it by itself and not at the same time as the other updates. It seems to like it better that way and doesn't have a tantrum
stapp thanks for your reply. i have ver. 4.5.2 installed-do i need to install any other versions(4.6 even though its not offered) before installing 4.6.1. reason i'm asking-my machine is working great and i don't want to screw it up. thanks
I installed that 4.6.1 without issue on my Win 7 machine (installed on its own, not alongside other updates) You don't need to install 4.6 beforehand. I always reboot after Windows Updates even if it doesn't ask me to.
