I often see in the firewall log the message "Block outgoing NETBIOS requests". What is NETBIOS and should I disable it entirely?
    Thank you in advance

It only appears if you have logging all blocked on. I too have it and have not being able to stop it, even after disabling according services etc, so i just turned off logging of all blocked.

    Thank you for your reply.
I did not mean that. I know that it willl disappear if I turn off logging of all blocked. My question is what NETBIOS is. Why does ESS block it? And will it make sense if I diable it entirely? Whether or not, it is blocked by firewall and why should I leave it enabled?
