    Hello to everybody,
    This is like in Mythbusters the only way to now if it is a myth or fact is testing. In my last years of experience in security area I had collected a vast quantity of malware samples.

    My list is divided in 2: Wildlist and Zoolist. Total number of 1,769,347 malware samples.

    REPORT:

    Size: 37.77
    Signed package: Globalsign
    Company: Neo Technology

    c)Software

    Malware database update:

    Configuration:
    1) Antivirus->Real time protection -> Disabled
    2) Antivirus->On demand -> Scan Zipped/Compressed files - >Enabled

    d)Results:
    Scanned files: 1,769,347
    Detected as malware; 1,769,345
    Missed: 2
    Rate Detection: 99.99 %

    Final Comments:
    Product “Neo Security Antivirus” has extremely high rate detection and fast performance. There is no doubt of the legitimacy of the antimalware product.
    Usually “Fake antivirus” does not detect 99.99%. In my particular opinion the product have a large potential. Heuristic algorithm must be a new kind to have the equivalent or higher to traditional antivirus product offers.

    Not to be mean, but some things one can't let pass.

    As I'm going out shortly, I didn't have time to scan a million files, so I just chose 19 discrete samples, all with VT detection rates of 26 and above.

    Neo AV was installed, updated. A right click scan was performed.

    Neo Detection rate: 1/19

    I don't have a calculator handy, but I believe the detection rate was a tad lower than 99.9%.

    Zeus- Sadly I'm not at home where I conducted the test so I can't access the original files I tested, but no worry as I tested again:

    1). Neo AV was installed.

    2). From our database I selected 17 discrete malware samples, all of which were detected as Ransomware, Trojans of diverse types and a virus or 2. I made sure that all samples had initial detections from May1-May8, so none are close to zero day.

    3). I conducted an on demand scan with HitMan, MB, CCE. All 3 detected 17/17.

    4). All files were uploaded to VT, and all had detection rate of 26 and above.

    5). I conducted an on-demand scan with Neo AV. Detection was 2/17.

    Although I realize that Wilders is not a malware exchange forum, I suspect you may have some affiliation to Neo and wish to improve the product I've sent you a PM with the sample misses.

    Best of luck!

    Ohh! :thumbd: :blink:

    This is to let you know that the AV Test result they had enclosed is not authorized by AV-TEST. And so they have been contacted by by AV-Test and now any such "false" claim have been removed by them. Also I came to know from AV-TEST that they are in fact using Commtouch engine.
