    hey xTincTion,
cool man... i also have installed REDHAT for my study research and ofcourse .... getting frustrated by windows loopholes....
umm linux is ofcourse secured than most of existing OS.. (i thought it to be most secured but got it known that www.openBSD.org has some other intentions ;) ) and the inbuilt firewall(iptable firewall) if configured well u are well secured in this "windows" hostile cyber space...
you can do one thing... more www.elitelinux.com have some answers for you waiting and yes www.opera.com also has linux version opera waiting for you to be installed
    happy windows extinction ;)
its peaceful in linux world :-*

    Hi xTiNcTion,

Rule number one, two and three:
Don't get rooted! In other (windows) words, don't use the admin account for normal computing.
