Need some advice on application

I was browsing through my add/remove programs today to see if there was anything i could remove. I saw an application called view point media player which i have had for months on my machine and i have always thought it was a part of Windows Media Player. but today as i was bored i googled it and i almost had a heart attack here is what i found,

What is this program, how have i aquired it and is it spyware or is it a legitimate program. It is worrying me immensly what i am reading.

If the program's not something you use, simply un-install it. Pete

ViewPoint Media Player manual removal:
Uninstall Viewpoint Media Player from 'Add/Remove Programs' in the Windows Control Panel.

Delete files:
AxMetaStream.dll, ComponentMgr.dll, MetaStreamID.ini, MtsAxInstaller.exe, npViewpoint.dll, npViewpoint.xpt, JpegReader.dll, Mts3Reader.dll, SceneComponent.dll, SreeDMMX.dll, SWFView.dll, WaveletReader.dll"
