I am trying to use TI to image to a network share, in a mixed domain (W2K and NT).
Once booted, I entered an IP, and a subnet.
I can only see certain shares on the other PC, NETLOGON is an example. But not the share that I need.

But the share that I've created I can see while inside Windows, and this share is shared to everyone.

I've tried server\user login and UNC path and none of that work.

I can image to server\NET LOGON no problem, but I want to image it to the proper share if I can.

    Plz help.

    Specs:
    Source:
    Dell GX200
    TI 7 bld 627
    3COM NIC
Windows NT 4 SP6 (not that this matters under TI boot)

    Dest:
    Compaq ML370
    Windows NT 4 SP6

    Domain Server:
    Compaq ML370
    Windows 2000 Server

I was able to do it with TI 7 Regular on another NT domain. Not mixed (W2K servers and NT wrkstns).

And I can see all the shares while inside Windows. But I don't want to install TI on the station that I am imaging.

Surely I don't need to fork out $500 to see shares on a mixed domain. TI 8 ?

    Hello --

Please ensure that the user you are doing a back-up under has enough rights to access the folder you want to back up to. I believe that it is the problem in this case.

    Thank you.

    Anton.

I shared the folders out to everyone.
And the login I used was domain admin.

Thanks for the quick reply Anton.

    Probelm solved.

TI boot disc has the same limitation as Win95-Win98: it can only see shares 12 chars max.

But you can still get to those shares through UNC names.

Eg: even tough you won't be able to see in ComputersNearMe the share:
    server\sharenamemore

You should be able to enter it in manually in the file name box:
    server\sharenamemore

    Cheers,
