Keep in mind, I would like to officially offer a reward of $500 to anyone that can supply me with the name(s) of the creators of these annoying little treasures, and thier home phone numbers and addresses. I will gladly pay the cost of an airline ticket to pay these guys a personal visit. After which, I invite you all to donate to my legal defense.

Thanx in advance for any and all help in removing this crap from my system.

    Hi gonzo67,

    Welcome to Wilders.

Before you start, please unzip or move HijackThis to a separate folder of its own. The program will make backups to the folder it's in. These easily get lost in a temporary folder or a folder with other programs.

Check the following items in HijackThis.
Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer,SearchURL = http://www.iquicksearch.net/search.htm

    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch =

    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,SearchAssistant = http://www.websearch.com/ie.aspx?tb_id=%tb_id
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
    O1 - Hosts: 64.159.94.251 auto.search.msn.com
    O2 - BHO: Recommended Hotfix - {0421701D-CF13-4E70-ADF0-45A953E7CB8B} - C:\Program Files\Recommended Hotfix - 421701D\v15\RH.DLL (file missing)

There also may be hidden files. See HERE for how to show hidden files.

Then reboot into safe mode and delete:

    C:\WINDOWS\noihtrxal.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\duaduvb.exe

Reboot and then post a fresh HijackThis log.

    Regards,
    Kent

Thanx again, worked like a charm. But I'll still pay $500 for the home addresses of the people responsible for Popuppers.com and advent01.com
