MythTV Step by Step Guide?

Hi guys

I'm completing my transition to Linux and my only stumbling block is to find a way to configure MythTV in order for me to have my regular cable TV channels. I played with it before; however, I was not successful. Now I would like ask anybody who can help to help me.

I read a few guides, some of them outdated, and these guides or articles were very intricate to the superlative. I sincerely hope I could find a solution at Wilders.

Since you're running Ubuntu Karmic have you looked at Mythbuntu yet? Here's a Karmic download link...

I tried Mythbuntu and I did not like the user interface. I prefer to use ubuntu and then install MythTV.
