true, but it doesnt sugarcoat the fact that everyone of their customers is frustrated with the speed of development for v5.

surely, a beta should be among us all already.

betas are ongoing, if its taking this long for a beta, it probably wont even be released till 2009.

    v.disappointing

Eset is not bad at all...I guess many people just find it a little too expensive.

    Cheers

yep, the whole myth of V5.

I dont understand all the secrecy.

its very frustrating being a loyal customer and hearing absolutely zero news about the upcoming beta version and its contents, im sure the rest feel the same.

well, I really think it is harder to predict based on the increasing malware growth. I think it is harder for all products to try and keep pace with the current situation, and make products for the future, I mean resources start to get thin in one area or another. Personally, I would not predict anything about my product if I were a vendor, especially if it is keeping pace with the current malware growth.

Well for those 9 years there were so many changes made, that drweb could easily name the current version 7 or 8. That's only the question of version naming.

    So would I! :)

    I know sergey,

    I'm guessing 4.44 with the quarentine/http monitor.

A partial version before 5 its the store

I have many theorys about what you guys are thinking, and I'm sure some are
    correct ;) LOL

I still think we will see something soon, before those 3 months, rather
be it a beta of an inbetween version or v5 beta will be ready to the public before that suggested timeframe

I think he suggested 3 months is more like a safety net.

    yep, pretty much egghead.

They certainly won't be telling their customers anything else, just have to wait I suppose.

Why? I can tell something more.

Our plans currently are: we prepare what is called v.5 and what is just another GUI for same old drweb, but as we realize it'll require some time more we are going to release next 4.xx version with additional functionality before v.5. That's for now.

    Ok sergey,

So if its just a new GUI, surely it won't take long and won't need a beta stage

Shall look forward to seeing it, will it be the v5 gui though?

yes it will. and beta is going to be required, because it's going to be a completely different gui.

Time's one of the hardest things. we do have our plans, but we don't declare them in order not to disappoint anybody when they fail. and you know, they usually fail ;)
