    Hey StormByte .
Any thoughts of adding a footer to incoming and outgoing email to allow the user to see that the emails were actually checked ? It is nice to see everything is scanned before coming in or going out instead of just trusting that it did . Thanks .

You can do this already. In the Mail Scanner settings, when you configure SMTP settings you can tell it to add footer info.

If you'll send me your email adress here in "Private Messages" in Wilders Forum up right, then it's OK.

    Best regards,
    Firefighter!

According to the log,ArcaVir detected roughly 215 files via heuristics.
Roughly because i used MS Word to count (SUSPICIOUS CODE) "words".
    Certanly not a bad result.

Compare that to 44 or so that were detected by CSAV 4.92.8 heuristics. Not so far below NOD AH with ArcaVir, if below at all!

Also don't forget about excelent Registry Monitor to proactively block certain threats that go pass signatures and Advanced Heuristics.

OK, NOD had 334 "probably" detected, but NOD won partly because ArcaVir has more signatures in there.

    RejZor,
Do you use the default reg monitor settings or have tweaked it? I would be interested in what you have set in reg monitor as I am very inexperienced with registry but trying to improve.

    Regards

Too bad that we can't disable signatures like in NOD32 :(
That would clear up the mistery.

    @Honyak
Yeah i checked the monitored reg values and there are all necessary to protect your PC from most common parasites.
Registry Monitor even protects Internet Explorer from toolbars and other crap that usually gets installed into IE6.
I installed iTunes few minutes ago and i got warnings for startup entries.
i had chance to block them or allow them, and when uninstalling it i got options to allow or restore them(to old values). Also very simple to control with lots of details on whats going on.
    Very nice.

I agree. That is unique only in NOD.

Here is my $.02 worth concerning ArcaVir 2005:

In my humble (but accurate) opinion, ArcaVir is one of the best new products that I have seen in a long, long time. If you don't believe me, do yourself a BIG favor: download and install ArcaVir on one of your test systems and run it through it's paces. Click on all of the option buttons, look at how it's put together. When I did, I said "wow!" and bought a copy for myself.

Is it perfect? No, it's scanning speed is nothing to write home about, and as of yet, ArcaVir doesn't have super-fast AV updates like Dr. Web, KAV, and Nod32.

In my case, I was either going to renew my subscription to F-Prot for $30, or for the same money I could have ArcaVir with a lot more capability, plus you get a good registry monitor and firewall as well. Goodbye F-Prot; you've been outclassed.

By the way, I have and use licensed copies of BitDefender, Dr. Web, KAV, F-Secure, and several others; Why? I do computer security for a living.

Tried it last night. This program definitely has legs. The A/V and malware detection appear to be solid, and you get a lot of very useable tools for the money. My only snarf is with the firewall module. Once this is made more comprehensive, this program will give the other suites (as well as stand-alone A/V programs) a real challenge. I'll be watching!

ArcaVir will have a much improved firewall in its 2006 version. Also, an AntiSpam module will be integrated into ArcaVir very soon.
