which I like very much - is that the database updates without saying that it is doing so. Thus, the hard drive makes all kinds of noise, other stuff is loading slowly for a few seconds, and I'm wondering if a virus is going to take the computer down and is in the process of wiping my hard drive. Sometimes I realize what is going on, sometimes not. A little pop-up would be very helpful. Then I would just wait for NOD to finish and not reach for my gun.

    Hi SteelyDon:

Turning off silent mode will do just that (assuming Balloon tips are on). It is not as intrusive as the previous version(s). ;)

Well, NOD32 doesn't warn you udring the update process but it warns you at the end with a small pop-up: "NOD32 has been updated to version...."
To enable this go to NOD32 System Tools->Setup->General tab and disable Enable silent mode check box. ;)

Speaking of that bubble, one just popped up a few seconds ago with a new update. :D ;) :D

You can also set NOD32 to prompt you first before an update is actually downloaded.

I almost always notice the bubble after the update and like it - kind of showing me that NOD is on the ball :)
I hardly ever notice anything before - I guess because the updates are so quick:D

    Thanks to all.

I followed Marcus' advice and now NOD prompts first.

NOD was OK, it was MY fault. I are not smart enough.
    :D
