    Hi JC,

I don't see anything wrong with your log, but you should check for a second opinion from Tony or Pieter or Unzy when they come on next.

    ;)

    Hi JC,

Can you try disabling Steam and see if that makes a difference.

Steam   Steam.exe   Program used for the game Half-Life. Valve (Half-Life creator) made it to test update and patches of the game as well as other games. Can be started manually

    Source: http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_pages/startup_s.php

    And have HijackThis fix:
O10 - Broken Internet access because of LSP provider 'lsp.dll' missing

    HTH,

    Pieter

    That's correct Pieter,

I use steam myself, it's some sort of a new Valve steam broadband updater platform, and is (unfortunately) still pretty buggy. I don't know if you use it for Counter Strike or TFC, but it has an auto update calculator, which is known to not always work.

Meaning : it auto-updates but it sometimes can 'hang', so that you are not really downloading the updates, so your system keeps 'hanging' while the updates are stuck, but still performing upload/dwonload activity.

If this happens , you just need to abort itand keep trying until you see the updater bar is proceeding like it should. If you have steam.exe running from startup, it searches updates automatically, and if it doesnt work from the first time, it keeps trying to update ( if any available) so your PC slows down quite a bit.

    Cheers,
