    Going through your log, I don't see any malware that would be responsible for the problem.

    Perhaps you could be a little more specific?

    This item you don't need if you are not running multiple display monitors on a single PC. To remove it from your startups, scan with hijackThis and checkmark this entry and press *fix checked*

    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [NVIEW] rundll32.exe nview.dll,nViewLoadHook
    {This is a DLL to enable multiple display monitors on a single computer. It can be a cause of numerous problems on some computers}

    Did you also run Adaware as posted in this link?
    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=15913

    It has more recent updates at the moment...but I truly don't see any evidence of spyware or other malware running on your PC. Slow computer may be due to something else.

    Too Much RAM being used

    With no programs open I am using 234 mgb of RAM (that is what it sasy in task manager). The computer is REAL slow. Like it is out of RAM. It has 256 of RAM installed. The Toshiba "help desk" told me to change some setting on my Virtual memory so I did and that helped for about an hour then it went back to being slow. I ran "Registry Mechanic" and pulled off some "duplicate files" and put them on my desktop just in case I goofed. That's about it. Could I have a "worm" or virus? I use Norton and keep it up to date.

    Thanks for any help.

    Brad

    No, I don't see evidence of any malware as I stated above :)

    Your scans have come out clean and your Hijack log is clean, I would suspect either you have too many programs running in the background, or you need to do some system maintenance and check your system configuration.

    Have you done some basics like System defrag, clean out your unnecessary files (Start>run> and type in: cleanmgr) that should free up some of your hard disk space. Check your running processes to see what is using excessive memory - try disabling unneccesary services at start up. Here are a couple of sites to help you check the usual reasons for a slow computer:
