    wtf? what do you mean by this?

    Back on topic, just allow his pc to go completely to shot, then offer to fix it, only if he allows you to secure it. Simple eh? (maybe ask for a good deal of money as well, that helps people make up their minds quickly)

    lol, okay. But norton actually is pretty good, especially the newer 06 and 07 versions, they are really trying to go against there bloat image. However, they still aren't my favorite company for various reasons, but their product does have good detection (also, they have great writeups on malware that is very useful when cleaning infected pcs).

    no probs so far i beefed up the security in IE on the family computer when no one was looking

    Give the man a frozen snapshot. When he reboots he gets exactly the same clean computer as yesterday. You can hide the icon too.
    You only have to anchor the folder where he stores his dirty pigs pics. :)

    he has it password protected most of the time so i can't get on it

    HA well the family computer is getting the BSOD. I saw that Norton wan't even activated . Jeeze. It killed the paper i was fixing on it. I turned it off and back on 5 seconds after i turned it back on the screen came up again.

    I would definately try to help him with the BSOD, since it can eventually screw up the hard drive (like getting bad sectors) having so many hard shutdowns.

    the family computer got the BSOD my bro's is ok for the moment
