    Besides a few mentioned already, part of my favorites are Linux.com and Phoronix.
    http://www.linux.com/rss/feeds.php
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/Phoronix
    Using them in Brief (Firefox extension). I really like it's interface, the combined view is the only way that makes sense to me. Everything else Liferea or Akregator throw at me is annoying. I either lose more horizontal space or vertical, hate it.

    On the other hand, i only use 5/6 feeds on Brief, because performance suffers when updating if i use a lot, and it has no 'search folder' / filter functions.
    The majority of the feeds are in Liferea, which does have a basic filtering capability. When i say basic, i mean it. I wish i was missing something! :p
    Firefox becomes a workhorse once you really search for extensions. Try:
    Update Scanner - simple to use, stable but lacks a few options to reduce FP's;
    SiteDelta (thank you Pinga!) - still a bit beta quality, but more advanced.

    It is weird, i checked with both firefox and opera, firefox gives "503 Service Temporarily Unavailable" error but i am able to add feed into Opera succesfully. I think site admins should know this technical issue.

    I forgot to mention Blogbridge, which is Java based and cross-platform.

    It's almost what i want, can save vertical space like Brief. The problem is horizontal space. There's two friggin sidebars on the left o_O
    I guess they don't use a laptop.
