Is there a way to use the DB10 interface to create multiple levels of cyclic backups? For instance, is it possible to do complete backups on my system drive monthly and retain the images for the last four months, while also doing daily differential backups on the latest complete image, retaining the most recent seven differential backups?

That'll require some customization. Take a look at this document to see how to setup a 2 week alternating sets with differentials in between. If you change the interval to 4 months and select seven days, it should produce the results you want.
