Multifactor authentication for operating system

    why is there no software for operating systems? like this?

    also is there an rsa token that uses numbers letters and symbols?

    There is, assuming you mean multifactor authentication. But sadly, you did not tell us what OS you are talking about, or what type computer you are referring to.

    Do note you can configure your computer hardware to require a password. Then you can require the OS to require a password. You can also configure Windows to require a security dongle, a fingerprint reader, or some other physical form of authentication.

    Yes, RSA SecurID does but studies have shown users get frustrated when using such complex mixed character tokens - and I don't blame them. That level of security is not really required when the token ID changes every 60 seconds or so any way.
