I don't mind if not many reply as long as someone can help me understand.

Some people I talk to, whenever they message me on MSN, one of the first things it says is:

"Your Buddy has new MSN budd Icon" and shows a link..

It only happens with some people I talk to, but it happens every chat I have with those people, sometimes it comes up more than once or twice in a conversation.

Is it some worm trying to tempt me with the link or just MSN being persuasive? (nothing new there)

I believe I am right in saying this is a plugin for MSN but don't worry its not on your PC. Basically, some of your contacts are using an extra plugin for MSN which gives them some extra capiabilities like extra emoticons for example. The message you recieve is just the programmers way of trying to get more people to use his or her plugin.

Ahh...I found it wasn't a plugin for MSN, but something that has been downloaded (3rd party)..the plugin contains "Cool websearch" and "Fun web products" spyware lol.
