Hi there i am new to this forum .

I have recently installed Nod 32 and i believe that for some reason it blocks my msn messenger 7.5!

I did not have this problem before the instalation.I even unistalled a new antispyware programm ,i checked windows firewall, i tried other instant messengers and they work...
I also tried signing in at the msn web messenger and there is absolutely no problem..
I unistalled and installed again the latest versions of the messenger and non of them works.

So it has something to do with NoD 32o_O o_O

This programm is totally new to me and any advise on how to fix the problem would be usefull,

    Thank you in advance,

    Maera

    Hi Maera, welcome to Wilders.

No, NOD32 can not block Messenger. Have you tried uninstalling and installing Messenger Live 8.0?

Please list the software that you have installed.

    Cheers :D

I rarely use msn, basically never, but when I use it there are no issues at all.

I can't thing of any other programms resently installed except for Getright

I haven't tried a restore yet but if i find no solution i will soon...

Something else ...Could a virus cause this?I didn't consider it an option cause it should be detected by nod

Could you please try uninstalling Getright and downloading a FRESH copy of Messenger, uninstall your current version and reinstall.

It is possible for a virus to do this, but not likely. You could check your settings against those found HERE

The Run a scan by clicking on the NOD32 Control Centre> NOD32> Run NOD32> Scan and Clean.

    Cheers :D

NOD32 is not culprit. I have seen similar problems. You should uninstall MSN Messenger, delete all temporary internet files and so on, then download fresh copy of MSN messenger and install again...

You sure know better but i think it causes some kid of problem to meo_O

I Just took the following steps. After each step i tried to sign in.

    1.I restored my system.-it worked
2.I unistalled my former antivirus-it worked
3.I installed Nod 32 -it worked
4.I changed all the settings according to the instructions given by the above link-it worked
5.I started downloading the first nessecary updates and i couldn't sing in anymore...

There appeared a message saying i cannot login because there is a problem with the server or i have to set my firewall so it doesn't block the messenger.

I did nothing else

I can still connect through the webmessenger and every ohter messenger i got...
And the Windows firewall is off ....

    Sorry for the inconvience ...
Maybe there is some special setting i need to do or something..:doubt:

    Hello,

What other security software was present on the computer before you tried installing NOD32?

    Regards,
