Yesterday I downloaded the above Security Update just put out by Microsoft. Immediately my XP machine started to take twice as long to open programs and folders than it did before the update.

I am also running the non beta version of NOD32 updated engine version 1.396. When I disable scanning by Amon my speed returns to normal.

I was wondering if anyone else with NOD, XP and Q811493 was having similar problems.

Thanks for the link to the NOD Beta forum. I will monitor the progress and wait for action by either Eset or Microsoft or both.

This patch slowed down my System as well! Uninstall this patch and it should be OK.

  8. I had the same problem, but disabling Amon (V2 Beta 4) didn't fix it. My system was still bogged down. Uninstalling Q811493 didn't fix it either, because it wouldn't uninstall properly. I had to go back to an image from two days earlier to get my speed back. I installed Q811493 again and got the same bogging down. It uninstalled OK the second time around and things seemed to be back to normal, but I went back to the two day old image again anyway just to be on the safe side. It's a Microsoft problem, not a NOD32 problem.
