Microsoft Corp. acknowledged Thursday that Internet Information Server (IIS), a component of the Windows 2000 Server, and holes in the Internet Explorer Web browser are being used in widespread attacks that are compromising Web pages and using them as launching pads for malicious computer code.

Microsoft said that people running XP SP2 are safe. Really safe? That SP2 is a BETA service pack for XP. I experienced a lot of problems with SP2 on my other beta testing computer. Problems like: IE hang hang hang, boot up/shut down extremely slow, CPU at 100% for 2 whole hours, these are some of the problems which microsoft needs to fix in SP2.
